Lightweight ESD Smock
Botron's Lightweight ESD Smocks feature a unique tuck strap design, that when worn under spec bypasses the need for ESD Wrist Straps. A blend of polyester and 12% carbon provides a very effective barrier, shielding static charge generated from clothing reducing risk of static transfer to ESD sensitive components and materials.
Overview
ESD Smocks provide what is known as a faraday cage effect, shielding electrostatic charges that build up on clothing worn by personnel. These charges produce field lines that can interact with ESDS components and even discharge into them as operators lean and reach over assemblies and static sensitive equipment. ESD Smocks are great for this reason alone, and should be strongly considered as required uniform in the ESD Protected Area.
Grounding in the Correct Path
Unique to Botron ESD Smocks, our Tuck-Strap design which is sewn into the interior of the garment, can be used to bond the garment to the operator. Therefor, preventing static charge build up on the smock by utilizing the path to ground provided by an ESD Wrist Straps and/or ESD Footwear worn by the operator.
Snap Cuffs
The open cuff on each sleeve has a series of riveted snaps used to close the cuff over long sleeved clothing underneath. It also helps prevent the sleeve of the smock from encroaching on free range hand movement while handling assemblies, tools and equipment.
Tightly Woven Layer of Protection
A class leading 12% conductive threaded fabric, woven in a tightly gridded pattern provides all over coverage. A tighter grid means less static field.
Ultra Lightweight
Specially designed to release heat, and reduce weight, the breathable weave keeps personnel comfortable all day long.
