AIM Audit Ionization and Electrostatic Field Meter
Botron’s ELITE AIM Audit Ionization Meter is a compact, portable survey instrument for measuring electrostatic charge and ion balance. The AIM measures electrostatic charges up to 20 kV (20,000 V) at a distance of 1″ (25 mm). Results are simultaneously displayed both numerically and in bar graph format on the large LCD. Also great for measuring ion balance on your workbench, the AIM will display ionization and polarity from -200V to +200V.
This handheld ion balance meter also couples as a static field meter, delivering more utility, transportability and convenience in a smaller package.
Periodic verification of ionization equipment is important when your ionizer is not equipped with a continuous ion balance monitor. Over time with usage, oil and dirt, tip corrosion, filter clogging, and component failure all can cause your ionizer to drift, producing more positive ions (cations), or adversely negative ions (anions). A simply way to make sure your ionizer is performing to spec is to run monthly or quarterly compliance checks with our AIM ionizer audit meter.
Static Field Detection
Moonlighting as a static field meter, the AIM becomes an indispensable tool. We see it often, workbenches, WIP shelving, mobile workstations/carts, can be cluttered with isolated conductors and insulators. Both which pose ESD threats. But static fields cannot be seen by the naked eye, and this is where the AIM becomes an extremely powerful tool for every ESD guru.
It's palm sized form-factor makes it hassle free when probing hard to reach areas and tight spaces.
